Desmosedici GP16 original crankshaft

This crankshaft was used in the Desmosedici GP 2016 engine. Ducati crankshafts are made of special steel alloy and realized using cutting-edge manufacturing processes. More specifically, they undergo long nitriding heat treatments, giving them outstanding mechanical characteristics. During operation the crankshaft has to perform at speeds over 17,000 rpm. The angle between the two crank throws is 70°, geometry used later in the Desmosedici Stradale engine of the Panigale V4. The component is accompanied by a certificate of originality signed by Claudio Domenicali and Luigi Dall'Igna. NOTE: As this component is subject to oxidation, we advise frequent lubrication to maintain its appearance. Item to be used for exhibition purposes only.
