Exhaust valve 1199 F18

This exhaust valve was mounted on a Ducati 1199 F18 that competed in the WorldSBK 2018. Designed to simplify the way they are manufactured, they are made from two separate sections joined using friction welding. To withstand the high exhaust gas temperatures, these valves are made from steel. Components such as these that form part of the exhaust valve train undergo an acceleration rate reaching 34,000 m/s2. Weighing just 65 g (2.3 oz.), they are nonetheless able to withstand elevated mechanical stress throughout a race or throughout the motorcycle’s lifetime.

As this component is subject to oxidation, we advise frequent lubrication to maintain its appearance.
