This intake valve was mounted on a Ducati 1199 F18 that competed in the WorldSBK 2018.
Thanks to the titanium alloy of which they are made, they are both lightweight and possess excellent mechanical characteristics. Components such as these that form part of the intake valve train undergo an acceleration rate reaching 34,000 m/s2. Weighing just 50 g (1.8 oz.), they are nonetheless able to withstand elevated mechanical stress throughout a race or throughout the motorcycle’s lifetime.
As this component is subject to oxidation, we advise frequent lubrication to maintain its appearance.
